DR. ROBERT GUTHRIE
DDS, BSC.
Dr. Guthrie moved to Parry Sound in 2011 looking to develop a family friendly practice in beautiful Georgian Bay. He was welcomed with open arms to the Georgian Bay Family Dentistry team and is proud of the professional dental care they provide every day.
Dr. Guthrie received his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) from the University of Western Ontario and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) training at the University of Toronto. After graduating, Dr. Guthrie completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. This advanced training program focused on emergency dentistry, surgery and implants. During his time as a hospital dental resident, Dr. Guthrie was responsible for treating patients with complex health issues and became licensed in various sedation techniques. He then joined a private family practice in Calgary, Alberta where he practiced until 2011.
In order to provide his patients with the latest techniques and standards in dental care, Dr. Guthrie continues to participate in many continuing education courses. He maintains memberships with the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.
Dr. Guthrie wants to help you understand your dental treatment options, make the best informed decision, and deliver the dental care you need in a comfortable and caring office from a skilled and friendly team.
TAMMY
Tammy has worked as a Dental Hygienist at Georgian Bay Family Dentistry since 1996. She graduated with honors from Cambrian College in 1994 and is registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and maintains annual membership with the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association.
LISA
Lisa has worked as a Certified Dental Assistant at Georgian Bay Family Dentistry since 1999. She works as Dr. Guthrie’s chair side Assistant in the restorative department. Lisa attended Cambrian College and graduated in 1993 with honors. She has since upgraded her skills to become Level II Certified. Lisa maintains her certification with annual membership through the Ontario Dental Assistants Association.
JESSICA
Jessica has worked as a Dental Hygienist at Georgian Bay Family Dentistry since 2015. She graduated from Cambrian College in 2011 for Dental Assisting, continuing on to graduate from Canadore College in 2014 for Dental Hygiene. She is registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, and maintains an annual membership with the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.
KARA
Kara graduated from Georgian College in 2012 completing her diploma in Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene. She joined Dr. Guthrie’s team in 2020 working in Sterilization and as a Dental Hygienist. She is registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario, and maintains an annual membership with the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.
MEAGAN
Graduating with honours from Canadore Collage in Medical Ward Clerk and Dental Terminology. Meagan has worked as a Dental Administration Assistant since 2013, joining Dr. Guthrie’s team in 2017.
JOSÉE
Josée has been part of the Georgian Bay Family Dentistry Team since 2018 as a registered Dental Hygienist. Graduating from Collége Boréal in 1997, she has steadily enjoyed her profession. Josée maintains her registration with the College of Dental Hygienist of Ontario and also her membership with the Ontario Dental Hygiene Association annually.
NICKY
Nicky graduated from Canadore College as a Dental Assistant in 1988. She joined Georgian Bay Family Dentistry in 2001 as the financial administrator. You will also see her assisting in the restorative and hygiene departments.
